Clearly write your goal out, Subliminal
Guru stating exactly what you hope to achieve, over what period of time or by what date, and to what end. Develop a list of action steps to describe each action you must take to accomplish your goal. Do not be concerned if you do not yet know all the steps. You can always add more later as you learn them.
Set a time table. Give each step a deadline to accomplish. This is a guide. Do not stress if you do not get each step accomplished according to your original deadline. Reality will interfere with your plans in the best of circumstances and you will need to adjust. On a regularly scheduled basis review your performance or progress on each action step. This should be done no less than every 30 days but more often if the steps take less time to achieve.
As you assess progress make adjustments to our action steps as necessary to reflect changing circumstances. If you seem stuck or not making any progress consider breaking the steps down into simpler steps that can be achieved more quickly and easily. As you complete each step mark it off your list. This reinforces a sense of accomplishment for you and strengthens confidence.
Once you have completed some important steps reassess your overall progress and make adjustments to time lines and steps as necessary, but do not lose sight of where you are ultimately headed. This is much like flying a plane. You have a destination and a course to follow to get there. You will be blown off course from time to time and adjustments are needed to get you back on course. Do not stress about being blown off course, this is normal.
