Information on Depression, Sleep Apnea and Snoring

Apart from this feedback's fromThe Mastery of Sleep  my clients I also get health related personal stories from my clients on regular basis. They make me aware of how condition affects one's well being mentally and physically. A woman who is my client sent me an e-mail recently that she used my stop snoring program as a last effort to avoid divorce. She said she was suffering from sleep apnea for many years and had snoring as a side effect.

When a person has sleep apnea what happens is that the airway is interfered many times and the person may stop breathing many times in a single night. People who are suffering from heavy sleep apnea sometimes stop breathing as much as 100 times per night. She said she had bought many medicines for this, but everything disappointed her. Recently in her yearly check up, it is diagnosed that she has blood pressure, this is in fact the side effect of sleep apnea she suffered for years.

Inclusive of all this she had an uncaring husband who was awaken by her loud snoring or her gasping for breath as she would not have breathed for several seconds. She said her snoring can be even heard from the next room. Yes, the husband is also in a pitiable condition, as his full night sleep was regularly affected for years together. His final solution was to tape her as she slept, snored and gasped and then to play the tape suddenly, unannounced while they were entertaining guests one night. Quite understandably, she was mortified. Quite understandably as well, she was depressed.

When a person is not getting full nights sleep continuously then the body will start getting energy from wherever it can and the best option happens to be food. The depression started to happen years before. Apart from having snoring and high blood pressure, she started to have weight gain as an extra side effect. What this client didn't realize is that along with snoring, high blood pressure, insomnia and weight gain, depression and personality changes are also side effects of sleep apnea.
