When you make the decision onIGR Plus a gut level, for reasons that are emotionally compelling then you are much more likely to follow through with your decision. In other words you become empowered to make a change in your life. I remember a dad who lost access to his daughter because of his drinking during his visits with her. He was devastated. He immediately joined AA and started a life with no alcohol in it. Needless to say, he was granted access to his daughter again by the courts after proving his sobriety. You see people can make remarkable and oftentimes difficult decisions and changes when they compel themselves to do so.
Another empowerment tactic is to enlist the help of a friend or colleague to become an accountability partner, a fancy name for someone who is willing to hold your feet to the fire and make sure you follow through with whatever you've committed to do. Of course you have given this person permission to push or prod if your will wanes or whines. Your accountability partner is also available to cheer you on when you have had some success which is always encouraging and helpful.
It is key to confront and move past any challenges or roadblocks that arise whether they be personal, financial or health related. Examples of personal challenges are a lack of skills or knowledge or lack of confidence. Sometimes we are in unhealthy or conflictual relationships which holds us back. There are strategies and means to resolve these type of challenges which often involves the help of friends or a professional, common and effective sources of empowerment.
