Over the weekend I had an interesting event happenThought
Manifestation Review to me. I was on a trip with the youth of my church in the mountains of Tennessee. It started out innocent enough. Another chaperon and I were trying to move a trailer into position. There was a van in the way so I jumped in to move it. I pulled the van down the drive way a bit to give room to maneuver the trailer. That is where things took a turn. I knew I was on steep grade, but I did not realize how steep. As I went to pull the van back up the drive way the wheels started to slip. I was doing all I knew to do to get the van to move forward, however because of the steep grade and the weight of the van I was going backward. All I could do was hold on. Thankfully there was a tree big enough to stop the van from going down a big hill and landing in a small lake. The tree broke the rear glass out of the door in the van, but possibly saved my life.
Immediately everyone began to ask me if I was okay. I thought they were over reacting a bit. I replied, "Yes I am fine I was barely moving." They proceeded to point out, if it had not been for that tree I would have been at the bottom of a big hill in a lake. They were thinking I should be a little shook up over what could have happened. I replied, "I have learned not to live life worried about what could have happened, I just thank God for the trees and move on." I really did not put a lot of thought into what I was saying, but later God started talking to me about the event.
This event is a great illustration of how God takes care of his children. Every day we make decision in life that causes God to put up trees to protect us. We if don't have the right prospective we can misunderstand these trees, however. Although the tree stop me from going down the steep grade, it did cause damage to the van. Instead of thanking God for put that tree there to save my life, I could have gotten mad at God for putting a tree there that would knock out the back glass. After all, I was doing everything I knew to do. My intentions were good. I was trying to help. Still, God allow me to mess up!
