You shall overcome the urge of the 'donuts' if you are aware. Every time you step away from the 'donut' it will get easier. Every time you step away it will get easier and you will find other ways to deal with your feelings.
Quit stuffing the food into you to stuff the feelings down. Acknowledge your feelings, feel them and get on with it. Your mind is like a protective mother. It doesn't want to feel uncomfortable. It wants to protect you. In other words it doesn't want you to get out of your comfort zone. When you start to do something different it feels odd, uncomfortable. You need to make that into a habit. When you make that new thing into a habit you have stretched enough to get out of that comfort zone.
Perhaps it is a habit that you have done for an awful long time and you are dead in the middle of your comfort zone on a great big comfy chair. As you start to do something different your mind will want to go back to that big comfy chair. Don't let it! Look away! Run away! You can do it. It will be hard at first but eventually you will have good strong healthy habits and out of that comfort zone. Then onto another hurdle!
